What a PERFECT kit!! Bartlebean is quite the stalker, her picks were spot on!! Speaking of being sneaky, look who I caught with her paw in the treat bag!! She LOVES her treats!!

For a pattern, she gave me Ice Queen, a BEAUTIFUL lace cowl with bead. I cannot wait to start! She also included a calender of Washington, so pretty!

My kit made it safely to my partner!! Feels good to have that checked off my To-Do List!! I also took my loom out last weekend and it works again!! When down in Arizona, the wood shrunk so much that the heddles would fall right through in the up position. Well now that we are back home, it fits perfectly!! So excited to be back weaving again! Off to sleep, I get to learn to make lefse starting tomorrow!! Did I mention how happy we are to be home?!?!?!?!

It is finally Friday! Lots to do this weekend. I actually am getting a little head start because I stayed home sick today. Tired of being sick so hoping a little rest (okay sleeping in until noon may qualify for more than a little rest), my ever so talented nurse Lizzie (see above) and some good drugs from my doctor will help get me back to healthy!

Got my shipment of flower bulbs, SO EXCITED!! I need to pull out some of the bulbs that are not winter hardy and redo the flower bed. Should be a lot of fun! I also hope to roast some tomatoes, garlic and peppers so I can freeze them for winter. I also may end up canning some tomatoes depending on how many I can get my hands on! Still looking for something to make with my fennel bulb, any ideas? Also ordered some fabric to make Lizzie a new bed. Lots of fun projects to get started on!

Now off to work on my last projects for my swap partner! Hoping to finish them up this weekend!

Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring:

This year, I moved back to Minnesota from Arizona. I am a little low on wonderfully hand knitted/crocheted cold weather gear. Thus, I choose this horcrux in hopes that a cowl, hat, wristlets, fingerless gloves/mittens would magically appear in my kit!

Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem:

As with the above group, I choose this to increase my cold weather gear! Thus, I would be delighted to find a hat or scarf in my kit!

Nagini:

As you may have noticed, I am a bit obsessed with my dog! So anything that looks like my four legged dogter, oh I mean my Animugus, would be amazing!

Hello fellow HSKSers! So excited to be back!

Let’s see, I was born Lavender Diggory and was originally sorted into the Ravenclaw house. After one of my more mischievous plots to cure boredom, I was introduced to Sirius Dolohov from the Slytherin house. Sirius and I started dating, much to the dismay of my parents. Can you believe they think he placed a spell on me? Just because a boy gives you a ring does not mean it always has to be cursed! Well, we ended up getting married that year. Because my parents refused to acknowledge our marriage (they still believe in this curse thing), the one and only luscious Lucious Malfoy gave me away! And yes, he is even better looking in person! The next term I was moved into the Slytherin house and my name is now Lavender Diggory-Dolohov! But our honeymoon did not last!

About half way into the term, Sirius disappeared! I have not seen him since. His house elf, Pukema, returned to school after his disappearance. He made me do all sorts of things and in return he gave me clues regarding the disappearance. But Pukema also ended up mysterious leaving in the middle of the night. Thankfully my Animagus is a german shorthaired pointer named Lizzie. I have been able to follow his trail which has lead me to some strange places. I took jobs at Azkaban and St. Mungo’s because his trail led me there. Last month, his trail led me back to Hogwarts. Not sure what clues I will uncover while here!

And there is still more!!! I got the Transition Gloves pattern I have been oogling for the longest time. She also sent me a hand repair kit (she must have seen a pic of my hands, the desert climate is not kind to the skin).

Here is Lavender Oil washing liquid (how fitting for me) and a plant that you grow in a ceramic egg! I have never seen this before and cannot wait to try it out!

Here is a pic of the Best Fabric Ever!! Yep, this is the pj fabric. I did not have a lot of time this weekend, but I did manage to have time to adjust the pattern and get it cut. Tomorrow will be crotch day, yes the day I will sew the crotch (get your minds out of the gutter) and hopefully the side seams and legs also! I also have leftovers so I should be able to make a few bags and maybe a pillow or a little skirt for Lizzie! Great Pattern for sewing Sock Bags!

I found a great tutorial on sewing sock bags! It is super simple and the bags turn out great! I have been playing with different sizes and changes to where the drawstings come out. I am planning on making these bags to hold the Harry Potter goodies for when the next movie comes out. I found some great material, I will try to post a pic of it when I finish one. On a different note, I am a little scared to go to work today being it is the April Fools Day. Hopefully, it will be a quiet day at Azkaban! Wish me luck!

I just received THE MOST AMAZING RAoK ever!! Thank you Clara Clavenhoof! The box was so big and contained so many gifts, I seriously thought it was my swap package. I did not relize it was a RAoK until I found the note on the bottom of the package. Not only did I have wonderful things sent to me, but she also included gifts for my dogter!! So here is my loot:Clara is quite the stalker! She knew exactly what to get me. Look at the seeds she gave me (how did you know that tomatoes and white bunching onions are my FAVORITE veggies?) And no worries about zones, they will grow wonderfully down here!Here is the owl she made for me!! No you can not have him, he is all mine and will soon be joining the Owlery (after he gets a little rest).

Did I mention this was a HUGE RAoK?? It is so big that I had to split the goods into two seperate posts. Keep reading and drooling below!

I just love Luna's glasses! I so wish I could find a Luna-like friend out here. You just know she would be a hoot to hang out with!

In case you have ever wondered if wood actually contracts and expands, I found out first hand it does!! I took a weaving class a few weeks ago. I brought my loom from Minnesota to Arizona, and it no longer fits!! The good news is that I found a second heddle kit that I can install and appears that it will work even better than the old set-up! For right now, I tied some wood blocks to the inside.

Well, I picked up the cutest fabric this week, so I am off to make a pair of pajama bottoms. I may use the extra to make a bag or two!! Cross your fingers for me!

Well, I cannot confirm nor deny I had anything to do with the recent snowfall here at Hogwarts (and I am sure that Pukema will also not be able to confirm nor deny the rumors!). However, or whoever, is responsible it sure was fun! Some of us conjured up a few of the dining hall trays and candles. Man do those trays make good sleds, especially with a little wax on the bottom! Above is a picture of our favorite hill. By the end of the day, we had the perfect trail set up and iced! Man did we fly! If there is another snow day, say perhaps next Thursday, you should come join us! Be sure to bring a bribe (hot chocolate, fire whiskey, and/or cookies) and we will help you find our trail!

I'm back!!

After having my arms twisted (yes the rumors are true, my arm was twisted 720 degrees by she-who-not-be-named) I decided to come back this term. As some of you know, I ran off to search for my missing husband Sirius right after last term. I am diffidently closer to finding him! I will share more as the term progresses.

For those of you who I have not meet yet, my name is Lavender Diggory-Dolohov (Lav DD for short). I am the Slytherin girl who almost always is accompanied by my "dog" Lizzie (once I get to know you better I will tell you her story, but for now just know she is not to be messed with!) During my first term at Hogwarts I was a Ravenclaw, that is until I met Sirius (really good looking older Slytherin boy). We secretly eloped after my first term, and he ended up missing soon afterwards.

To try and keep my mind off of Sirius during the term I engage in a lot of hobbies. I love reading and cooking! When it comes to hobbies I have a severe case of ADD!! I knit, weave, dye, spin, make jewelry, dabble in polymer clay, and anything else that happens to catch my eye.

Oh no, here comes my house elf Pukema.... She was sent to me from Sirius to help me find him. She gives me clues on his whereabouts, but to get them I must complete tasks she requests (and all of the adventures she sends me on are here at Hogwarts, which is yet another reason I returned this term). Most of these tasks conclude with me serving detention (that is where I first met, and fell in love with, Sirius so I know he is behind the clues). Looks like I have some mischief, oh I mean a task, to accomplish! See you in detention!!!
